Short Breaks in Aberfeldy
Aberfeldy is located in Perth and Kinross county, Scotland. It lies in the Tay Valley on the River Tay. Close by are the Grampian Mountains and the picturesque villages and natural beauty that can be found on Loch Tay.
It is a market town well known for its bridge known as Wade's Bridge, which is named after the prolific 18th century Field Marshal George Wade - in fact the bridge actually existed before the modern town of Aberfeldy! In and around the town square can be found a range of galleries, restaurants and specialist shops.
Near to the town are a system of gorges and waterfalls known as the 'Birks' - the Birks were immortalised in a poem by legendary Scottish poet Robert Burns - where you can view examples of rare and protected wildlife. From here you can take paths up to the Falls of Moness and witness some spectacular views of the Tay Valley.
Aberfeldy is in close proximity to many wonders of the Scottish Highlands such as Schiehallion - 'The Fairy Mountain', the valley of Glen Lyon, the historic town of Dunkeld and the picturesque tourist resort of Pitlochry.
