Fife
Fife is to be found in central eastern Scotland forming a peninsula with the Firth of Forth to the south and the Firth of Tay to the north. The countryside of Fife is rich and varied including the heathland and forests of the Lomond Hills in the east, to the fishing villages, dramatic cliffs and spectacular beaches on the coast, offering many opportunities for walking, cycling, horse riding, water sports and golf.
The Fife Coastal path extends for 150 km and along its route you will find stunning scenery, a wealth of interest for wildlife enthusiasts and sites of historical interest such as Newark Castle, McDuff Castle and the elegant medieval town of St Andrews, where Prince William and Kate Middleton attended university together. Famous for its long and historical association with golf, The Royal and Ancient Golf Club is considered by many as the 'home' of golf, whilst the town of St Andrews has no less than 11 golf courses within its bounds.
