Short Breaks in Canterbury
The inspiring city of Canterbury is set in the county of Kent in south-east England, surrounded by lovely countryside and close to the charming seaside resorts of Whitstable and Herne Bay.
The city is rich with history and at the forefront of its treasures is the World Heritage Site, comprising the famous Canterbury Cathedral, St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church. The cathedral is a magnificent example of Gothic architecture and is noted for its many beautiful medieval stained glass windows.
The Marlowe Theatre is Canterbury’s stunning new theatre, running an exciting programme of theatrical, musical and comedy events. Alternatively, The Gulbenkian Theatre, on the University of Kent campus, is a popular comedy venue with many up and coming stand-up comedians making regular appearances.
