Short Breaks in Channel Islands
The Channel Islands, a group of British crown dependencies, are situated off the Normandy coast of France. The five inhabited main islands are Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark & Herm, making the region perfect for an island hopping, sailing short break or a varied beach break. A martello tower right on the beach in Jersey, an apartment in St Brelade and a cottage in St Ouen are among our short break holiday accommodation rentals.
Owing to their strategic position, The Channel Islands have played an important part in history and they are a fascinating destination for a holiday embracing culture and history. Among the popular sites to visit are the German Occupation Museum on Guernsey, Sir Walter Raleigh's 16th century Elizabeth Castle at St Helier and the Jersey War Tunnels with their German underground hospital.
As well as the abundance of natural wonder and the wealth of beautiful beaches, other places to see on the Channel Islands include the fortifications of Jersey's historic Mont Orgueil Castle, the Suasmarez Manor and Victor Hugo's House - both on Guernsey, the picturesque cobbled streets of St. Anne on Alderney or Sark's fragrant gardens of La Seigneurie.
