Short Breaks in King's Lynn

King’s Lynn is a coastal market town on the southern corner of The Wash in Norfolk, East England. The Wash is a square mouthed estuary fed by the River Ouse, the River Welland and the River Nene.

King’s Lynn has many historical attractions, among them being St Margaret’s Church with its 900 year history; The Walks, a grade II listed National Historic Park; the 15th century Town Hall which has a distinctive chequered, stone work façade and the 17th century Custom House.

The town is a lively cultural centre, having a collection of sculptures at the Harding’s Pit Park and contemporary art exhibitions at the Grey Friar’s Art Space. Theatre, music and comedy performances can also been seen at the King’s Lynn Arts Centre and at The Corn Exchange.

Beyond King’s Lynn itself you will find The Fens, an extended area of peaceful, lush farmland and marshland. Flat and reminiscent of the Netherlands, the area is ideal for gentle cycle touring.
