Short Breaks in Marazion
Marazion is an historic market town on the edge of Cornwall’s Mount’s Bay. It is an excellent base from which to explore the southernmost tip of the county, being just 9 miles from St Ives, 3 miles east of Penzance and 13 miles from Land’s End.
The town is blessed with a safe sandy beach and spectacular views of St Michael’s Mount, which can be reached on foot via a cobbled causeway at low tide and by ferry at high tide, when the mount becomes an island. Removed from the bustle of life on the mainland, a trip to St Michael’s Mount has a magical atmosphere with its medieval chapel and castle, and sub-tropical garden.
Marazion offers many opportunities for water sports, including windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing. Alternatively, a very pleasant afternoon can be spent exploring the wide variety of gift shops and galleries, exhibiting the work of local Cornish artists.
