Short Breaks in Perthshire

Perthshire is centrally located in the heart of Scotland. It has a fascinating heritage and there are many sites of historical interest such as Glamis Castle, where the Queen Mother of Queen Elizabeth II grew up; the Black Watch Museum, which catalogues the history of the famous Black Watch Scottish regiment; the dramatic and rugged sixteenth century Castle Menzies and the magnificent Blair Castle at the foot of the Grampian Mountains. Perthshire offers 40 golf courses to choose from, among them Gleneagles and Rosemount.

For walkers, there are numerous trail routes through memorable landscapes, including the Rob Roy Way, the Cateran Trail and for the more energetic, routes exploring the mountainous terrain that forms the southern part of the Highlands. Skiing, snowboarding and climbing are available at Gleenshee while many adventurous activity specialists offer a wide range of water sports such as white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking as well as land based activities including abseiling and quad biking.
