Short Breaks in Solihull
West Midlands
The county of West Midlands is situated in the centre of the country. A largely metropolitan county, it consists of the boroughs of the City of Birmingham, the City of Coventry, the City of Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull and Walsall. Despite its large degree of urbanisation, there are also green-belt areas such as the Meridian Gap, the Sandwell Valley and the hills of Barr Beacon and Turners Hill.
As well as the large cities with their ample shopping opportunities and eateries - such as the Bullring in Birmingham, other attractions include the contemporary Coventry Cathedral designed by Basil Spence, the aquatic wonders at Birmingham's Sea Life Centre, the impressive Victorian Wightwick Manor or the feast of vehicles on show at the Coventry Transport Museum. Alternatively, you may choose step back in time over a 100 years by visiting the Black Country Living Museum situated in Dudley.
