House Holidays in Isle of Anglesey

The island county of Anglesey is situated off Wales's north-west coast. It is separated from the mainland by the Menai Strait but connected via two bridges; the Menai Bridge & the Britannia Bridge. An island of hills and coastline, its principal town is Holyhead - others include Llangefni, Amlwch, Beaumaris and the village with the longest place name in the UK, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (which is shortened on road signs to LlanfairPG!)

The coastline of the county is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and home to several wetland and rare bird habitats such as Malltraeth in the south-west. There are also some impressive cliff faces around the island. The county also has excellent beaches and facilities for water sports such as sailing and surfing.

Places to visit in the area include Llanddwyn Island and its lighthouse, Penmon Priory, the fishing village of Moelfre, historic Beaumaris Castle and Holyhead Mountain - Anglesey's highest point.
