About Tetbury

Located in the rolling hills of the Cotswolds is the town of Tetbury in Gloucestershire. An important town in the Middle Ages for its wool, Tetbury still has many notable buildings from its historical past such as The Parish Church of St. Mary The Virgin dating from the late 1700s and the splendid Market House, built even earlier in the mid-seventeenth century and where markets are still held even today. There is always something going on in the town from music festivals to specialist fairs.

A walk around the town is also highly recommended. The town centre proudly displays a wealth of buildings dating from both the 16th & 17th century - many of these are grade listed buildings. Tetbury is famous for its many antiques shops and these can be found on the town's main streets along with plenty of specialist shops offering unique gift ideas. There are many cafes and bars offering fine refreshments. Other places to visit in town include the Heritage Centre & Police Bygones Exhibition and the picturesque Chipping Steps flanked by the old weavers' cottages.

Tetbury is ideally located to explore the beautiful Cotswold countryside and surrounding attractions. Only a short drive from the town is Highgrove House - home of HRH Prince Charles, The Prince Of Wales. In the summer months the Elizabethan manor, Chavenage House, opens its doors to the public to explore its beautiful grounds. Cotswold Water Park offers plenty of aquatic fun or for a more relaxing day out, take a stroll on beautiful Minchinhampton Common. The historic towns of Cirencester and Stroud are also close by.
