Bungalow Holidays in Wadebridge

Wadebridge is a market town in north Cornwall on the banks of the River Camel. Downstream beyond  Wadebridge, the river becomes an estuary as it flows towards Padstow Bay and the north Cornish coast, making Wadebridge an excellent centre from which to explore the many popular nearby coastal locations, such as Rock, Polzeath, Padstow and Port Isaac.

Bicycles can be hired in Wadebridge and a delightful cycling route is along the 17 mile Camel Trail, which was reclaimed and converted for recreation from a disused railway line. The Camel Trail starts on the edge of Bodmin Moor at Wenfordbridge and after passing through Wadebridge ends at the sea at Padstow. Walking, horse riding, birdwatching and jogging are also ideal activities on The Camel Trail.

Watersports enthusiasts will find a choice of activities at Rock and Polzeath, including sailing, water skiing, surfing, parascending and windsurfing. A number of stables in the area also provide horse riding and several local venues have go-karting circuits. Golf courses are available at Trevose, Constantine and Bodmin.

The Wadebridge Folk Festival takes place in August and is a lively event for music lovers. ‘Foodies’ will enjoy the many excellent sea food restaurants in the area such as Rick Stein’s famous restaurants at Padstow.
