The county of Oxfordshire is situated in South East England. It is spoilt for choice for its scenery having no less than three areas of outstanding natural beauty; the Chiltern Hills, the North Wessex Downs and the Cotswolds.

The major city in the county is Oxford, world-famous for its university which dates back to the 12th century and associated with the University boat race - which has been held annually between the teams of Oxford and Cambridge since 1856.
