Viney Hill Country House is an enchanting period house built in 1741, which has been extended and renovated to a very high standard. The house has a beautiful outlook over the Forest of Dean and Gloucestershire countryside. It has off road parking for 4 – 6 cars and a private enclosed swimming pool for year round use (please bring your own pool towels).

Ideally situated for the many attractions of the Forest of Dean, with easy access to Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol, Newport and Cardiff. The property offer’s an ideal base for activity holidays, cycling, walking and nature enthusiasts. This is a truly peaceful country location, with numerous beautiful walks, popular cycle trails, plus the many interesting places and attractions, well within easy travelling distance.

The views at Symonds Yat and the River Wye are less than 20 minutes away, and the famous Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail is very close by. The surrounding area boats a wide range of attractions, including the Dean Forest Railway, Go Ape, (High Wire Forest Adventure), Perrygrove Railway, Clearwell Caves, Hopewell Mine, and the Dean Heritage Centre. Other places easily reached include The National Bird of Prey Centre at Newent, Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust, Prinknash Abbey - Bird and Deer Park, and the popular Welsh mine - Big Pit is only an hour’s drive.

There are several high quality local restaurants, such as the Ugly Duckling, The Globe in Alvington, The Cross at Alyburton and The Miners Arms in Sling .For those seeking the take away option the Bengal Balti, Jimmy’s Kitchen and Rominos Pizzas are in the nearby town of Lydney.
