Holiday Properties in Ross-on-Wye

The county of Herefordshire is situated in the West Midlands of England. The county town is actually the cathedral city of Hereford - the cathedral dating from the 13th century. Other towns in the county include Leominster, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye, Kington and Bromyard.

The sparsely populated county has a rich, rural and agricultural history, being known for its fruit orchards and the production of cider, as well as the breed of cattle that shares its name with the county.

For outdoor enthusiasts and walkers, to the east of the county are the Malvern Hills - an area of outstanding beauty with superb views of Herefordshire and the surrounding counties. And to the west of the county, another area of outstanding beauty - the picturesque Wye Valley which defines the border between England and Wales.

Places to see include Hereford Cathedral, the remnants of the Norman medieval Goodrich Castle, the Iron Age defence of Sutton Walls Hill Fort and the 'mock' castle and grounds at Eastnor.
