  Living room

  The large living area has a vaulted ceiling with two comfy sofas, dining table for four (extra seating available) and wonderful views of the woodland and surrounding countryside.  As well as the Smart TV, there is a Bluetooth speaker, DVD player and a DVD library.  For more old-fashioned pursuits, there are a selection of fiction and non-fiction books you're welcome to read while you're staying here, as well as backgammon and other board games.

    

  Take some time to check out the art - some pictures are by local artists whilst others are some of my favourites that I hope you'll enjoy.  The rocking horse is called 'Coralie' and she's been with our family for three generations.  All the ornaments are also some of my favourites - they may not be entirely the same as those in the photos when you visit as I do often swop things around and steal things back for my own house!

    

  There is access from the living room directly out onto the terrace and the wood.

  The kitchen

  The kitchen is fully equipped with (hopefully) everything you might need including plates, glasses, mugs, cutlery, pots and pans, kitchen utensils and a corkscrew of course.  There is an induction hob, a main oven and a combination oven/microwave, and a full-sized fridge freezer.  The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher and washer/dryer, both of which can be used with the eco-friendly detergents supplied. 

      

  The icing on the cake for sports fans or competitive couples is the football table, not esssential for a kitchen admittedly but lots of fun!

      

  The welcome box that you'll find in the kitchen on arrival includes a range of fair-trade teas and coffees as well your choice of fresh milk or non-dairy equivalent, a selection of cereals, fresh white, brown or sourdough bread, butter, jam, marmalade.and honey.

  You'll be welcomed with choice of a bottle of prosecco or wine, or a few bottles of local beer, lager or cider depending on your preference.  We'll even make sure you've got ice cubes in the freezer.

  Your four-legged companion(s) will have dog bowls, dog towels, spare leads, poo bags and of course, dog treats and a new tennis ball to welcome them to The Horse House.

  There is an iron, ironing board and drying rack for clothes, a hoover and outdoor blankets in the cupboards under the stairs.

  There is also a first aid kit, fire extinguisher and fire blanket.

  Bedroom

  The upstairs bedroom has a king size solid oak loft-style bed, an oak gateleg table so you can sit and have your morning coffee, a comfy sofa and a dressing table.  You’ll find luxurious White & Green linen and fluffy towels as well as a hair dryer and a supply of hangers (if you need more, just ask). 

  The bedroom has an apex ceiling so you may need to watch your head. 

  No dogs in the bedroom please – please use the stairgate.

  Shower room

  The modern bright bathroom, which is downstairs, has a large walk-in shower, vanity unit and WC. 

  "Rethinking the eco-mood" is the motto for the Botanika range of toiletries provided for you, which highlights care and attention for the environment: the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel bottles are made out of 100% recyclable PET whilst the guest soap is hand-made out of vegetable oils with a fresh fragrance of almond milk, and comes in the shape of a spa hot stone.  The soap contains nutshell scrub.

  Still on the enviromentally-friendly bandwagon, even the toilet roll is made from sustainable bamboo!

  Outside

  There is a huge sliding glass door along one wall of the living area which gives you access to a private terrace with outdoor seating and dining areas.

  The terrace has seating and dining areas and leads directly onto a lawn area with sun loungers.  In turn, below this is a small woodland area where a meandering pathway will lead you to a sweet little hut made locally from reclaimed wood, perfect for meditating or just admiring the views).  

  There is also a hammock, great for lounging in while you listen to the breeze through the trees, perhaps sipping on a chilled glass of white wine in the summer.  In colder weather, you can sit around the firepit, wrapped in a blanket with a hot drink.

  From the wood, as long as there is no livestock in there, you're welcome to walk around the adjacent two-acre field.  While you're doing that, you can check on the progress of the newly-planted Oak, Silver Birch and Whitebeam trees in the field.
