Lamacraft House, located on the Start Point peninsula in South Hams, is an iconic property 85 metres above sea level, at the end of a no-through road. It offers breathtaking sea views towards Start Bay and picturesque vistas of Devon hills. Adjacent to private woodlands, you’ll hear the sound of owls at night which add to its serene atmosphere. This private home, next to the non-working Lamacraft Farm, is in a small hamlet, offering a perfect retreat from everyday life.

Lamacraft House has recently undergone a full and extensive refurbishment and offers a taste of luxury and sophistication with everything you need for a wonderful relaxing holiday and a place to switch off from the world. 

The property

Recently refurbished, exudes luxury and sophistication. It can accommodate up to 10 guests in five bedrooms, and welcomes up to 2 well-behaved dogs over 2 years old. Amenities include an 8-person luxury Hydro Pool hot tub, a 7ft professional pool table, and a PlayStation 5.

Inside

The extensive renovation in 2024 has beautifully merged modern comforts with elegant interior design. The house features spacious rooms, a large lounge with a 14KW log burner stove, a Smart TV with Sky TV, sofas, and a window seated area perfect for a round of cards or game of chess! The professional slate bed pool table and built-in Sonos ceiling speakers ensure entertainment for all.

The expansive kitchen-dining area offers sea views and opens into a sunroom – perfect for unwinding. The dining area includes a second wood-burning stove and a table for 10. The modern kitchen is equipped with a double oven, microwave, induction hob, and a kitchen island with a built-in Sonos speaker system. Additional amenities include a Nespresso machine, undercounter fridge/wine fridge, boiling water tap, dishwasher, and a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Upstairs, a central open hallway leads to five uniquely designed bedrooms. The master bedroom and pink bedroom offer stunning sea views, while others open to a south-facing sun terrace. The master bedroom features a sumptuous Super King bed, countryside views, a large ensuite shower room with two sinks, and toothbrush chargers and sea view from the loo!

The other bedrooms include a mix of Super King and twin beds, with oodles of wardrobe space to unpack and feel at home with some offering ensuite facilities and balconies overlooking Devon hills.

The family bathroom has a shower over the bath and a double sink. Every room has been thoughtfully designed to surprise and delight, with sea views even from unexpected places.

Outside

The south-facing front garden is a tranquil space, leading to the main entrance. The rear garden, accessible from the kitchen and sunroom, features an outdoor dining table for 10, a Webber charcoal BBQ, and a luxurious Hydropool Platinum hot tub on a raised deck. The level lawn is ideal for croquet, and is the perfect place for star gazing on a clear night! 

The property offers super-fast broadband, Smart TV, and PlayStation 5. It's situated near East Portlemouth, Salcombe, Beesands, Torcoss, Slapton, and Dartmouth, with local supermarkets in Kingsbridge. The Southwest Coast Path is easily accessible for breathtaking walks.

There are steps within the house and gardens, and stairs to the upper floor. Parking for up to 6 cars is available in the gated courtyard, along with a Zappi EV charger (charges apply).

This magnificent property promises a luxurious and relaxing holiday experience, offering the perfect blend of privacy, comfort, and stunning natural beauty.

Please note, that the remote location requires a car and is not close to any transport links. Totnes Train Station is 17 miles away. The property, while on relatively flat land, is in a hilly area and access to and from is up and down a hill and along the Devon lanes.

The Master Bedroom has a sumptuous Super King bed with double aspect window countryside views and ever-changing sea views. Plus a large ensuite shower room.

The Pink Bedroom has a Super King bed with an ensuite pedestal sink with a mirror above and a light

The Cream Bedroom has a Super King bed which can also be made into a twin bedroom if required and south facing balcony.

The Green Bedroom has a King Size bed with an ensuite shower room and a south-facing balcony.

The Blue Twin Bedroom doubles up as a children’s bedroom or a handy office space with a desk with a dreamy view of the garden and rolling Devon hills. (NB one of these beds is a narrow 2ft 6 wide single the other is a full size single 3ft wide)

There is parking available for up to 6 cars within the gated courtyard; with a Zappi EV charger (fee applies to charge).

Available for weekends, short breaks and week long stays.
Preferred changeover day is Friday during peak season but flexibility around off peak.

Extras


Hydro Pool Hot Tub is available as an extra for £150 per booking you can add this to the booking as an extra. ** This will be bookable once you have confirmed your booking.**

Dogs are welcome and charged at £40 per dog per week (maximum two and no dogs allowed upstairs or on furniture)

Towels are included, but please bring any beach towels you might want.

Security Deposit

There is a £500 security deposit this is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is reserved and then released afterwards if there is no damage.
